Hi Ed – My name is Kristen Baxter and I am the Director of Marketing here at the Portland Spirit. I just had the pleasure of reading your blog post about the Cinnamon Bear. We are the company that runs the Cinnamon Bear cruises here in Portland. We also put together an illustrated book about the story as well as have an entire line of characters and products that are associated with it. We share your same passion for the history and characters of Cinnamon Bear. If you are ever in Portland in December we would love to have you on board the cruise and you can check out more here: http://www.cinnamonbearcruises.com

      Hi Kristen,

I’m glad to hear from you! I’m so pleased you enjoyed my article. I hope that one day I can take your cruise. It sounds like a lot of fun. I’m going to have to check out your book and your character products. I collect that sort of thing but was unaware of them. I’ll be sure to do a future post reviewing your merchandise too. Have you ever thought of doing a “Cinnamon Bear” comic book adaptation or have any ties to the Heisch family? I really want to do one so I can do my part to help bring “The Cinnamon Bear” back. I could have self published my own but I just didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes. You can check out some of my work and see reviews of my work at http://www.jillchill.com (I need to update my site as the books go back into print next year but it still gives you an idea of what I have done.) I collaborated with an artist on those but I do my own artwork too. (All of his artwork was based on my own. It was done this way for time reasons) I love bringing attention back to old forgotten properties like the Bear and Oz and others. I’m not sure if your cruise would be interested in something like that or not but perhaps you could direct me to the right people to talk to so I might do it on my own? I would just love for America to become reacquainted with “The Cinnamon Bear” again! 😀

    Hi Ed:

I live in High Falls, NY across the street from where Romeo Muller wrote Rudolph and many other wonderful screenplays.

    Did you know Romeo?

Am I correct that you are the Ed McCray who wrote Jill Chill & the Baron of Glacier Mountain and that there is a character in it named after Romeo?

I am working with a local museum to create an exhibit celebrating Romeo’s life and work. Your remembrances and advice would be most appreciated.
